An interactive user friendly graphics environment allows effective operation, that is, job planning, resource (spares and labour) allocation and actual or projected resource checking. In addition, effective searching facilities of historical data are provided .

A link with the budgets and the budget control module is available.

KAPA mpi maintenance is designed to deal with:

  • The complete cycle of a maintenance job
  • Resource management, that is, follow up of spares inventories

Two basic types of maintenance jobs can be handled by the system:

  • Planned or preventive jobs, and
  • Condition based or corrective (unplanned) jobs

Graphical Overview

  • Operation is effected through a single screen. This is simple in its use and provides direct access to related information.
  • The time window is variable and can be extended to include past and future job maintenance activities.
  • Dates due, to start or started, job effort, duration and history are some of the parameters displayed graphically.
  • Jobs can be planned interactively and estimation of resource availability can be easily checked.

Each job is stored and monitored in terms of a comprehensive set of parameters, including:

  • Job instructions
  • Surveyor reports
  • Component status rating

Data can be attached to each job in the form of text documents, drawings, extracts from maintenance manuals, photos and videos.

Maintenance work may be:

  • Grouped to major tasks, such as repairs, conversion, drydockings
  • Categorized, that is, assigned to departments, responsible persons, etc.

The maintenance interface screen displays:

  • Overdue and pending jobs and the respective job orders
  • Time projection of planned maintenance jobs
  • Resources both in terms of spares and work hours
  • Job history in colour marking and automatically re-schedules a planned maintenance job, once completed and filed.

Job Instructions

Technical information in the form of drawings, set of instructions, photos and videos are readily accessible to on-board personnel.

Job Filing

Estimated and actual resources and costs are available. Rating of components after job completion is recorded for future maintenance planning. Filing is linked to the budgets module and automatically updates stock quantities in the spares inventory module.

Typical on-board tasks such as:

  • Instructions and technical information for the performance of maintenance work
  • Vital information on spares, man-hours and the status of the equipment in question, as recorded the last time the job was done
  • Filing jobs after completion are straight forward and simple to perform.

Circulating Components

KAPA MPI is capable of handling circulating components, by specifying their working position and being able to commence, suspend and restore their operation.

Reports

A comprehensive set of standard reports is readily available, such as completed work reports, pending work reports, job order reports, machinery work hour reports, etc. Moreover, the system provides the capability to produce own reports, such as machinery running hours report.
